Powell Blue has joined DDB Needham Los Angeles as chief operating officer. He previously was chief operating officer for DDB Needham Worldwide Ltd.’s operations in Australia.

Bridget Seyler has joined Westlake Village-based Wiley & Associates as director of account services. Prior to joining, Seyler was a management supervisor at Mendelsohn/Zien.

Christine West has been appointed director of new business at Woodland Hills-based Mikell & Co. Her responsibilities will include new business development and account management. Most recently, West was director of new business at a Ventura County advertising agency.

Aerospace

Michael W. Williams has joined the Long Beach office of Ducommun Inc. as vice president of corporate development. He will be involved in the company’s acquisition activity. Prior to joining Ducommun, Williams held operations positions at H.R. Textron, Crane Valve Group and ITT Corp.

Accounting & Consulting

Roth Bookstein & Zaslow LLP has recently promoted several employees. Joseph Bayewitch has been named senior supervisor in the tax department, Lynell Chun has been named senior supervisor in the comprehensive business services department, Steve Cleland has been named senior supervisor in the general accounting department, Demetria Milton was named supervisor in general accounting, and Marc Gerberick was named director of management information systems. In addition, Cynthia Gaytan has joined the office as manager in charge of comprehensive business services and Jennie Bordeaux has joined as manager of accounting and auditing.

William Ferguson has joined the Los Angeles office of SCA Consulting LLC as principal. He will advise top management, manage client assignments and direct joint working teams with clients. Prior to joining, Ferguson was a senior manager for Marakon Associates.

Douglas J. McEachern has been appointed national REIT services partner at the Los Angeles office of Deloitte & Touche LLP. He will maintain his responsibilities as Western region partner-in-charge of real estate services, as well as assuming additional responsibility for coordinating and overseeing services to the REIT industry.

George Strong has been elected to the board of partners and principals of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He will oversee operations and management of the West region FAS service line. Strong will be based in Los Angeles and has been a firm partner since 1987.

Banking & Finance

Daniel S. Barrett has joined the Los Angeles office of A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. as vice president of investment banking. He will specialize in the planning and financing of sports, entertainment and other special facilities. Most recently, Barrett led Deloitte & Touche’s hospitality, sports and leisure consulting practice for the Western region.

Environmental Services

Paula Dobbins has been promoted to principal of Planning Consultants Research. She will be based in Santa Monica and will oversee financial and administrative operations for the firm. Dobbins has been with PCR for six years and was previously responsible for all aspects of the company’s finance operations.

High Tech

Michael Beebe has been promoted to president of El Segundo-based Computer Sciences Corp.’s chemical, oil and gas group. He previously served as global account executive for CSC’s outsourcing contract with DuPont.

Lee Ireland has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of marketing for Pomona based Auto-Graphics Inc. His responsibilities will include all aspects of the product marketing for the company’s complete software line. Most recently, Ireland was a product manager at Data Research Associates Inc.

Peter Shapiro has been named vice president of human resources at the Van Nuys office of Electro Rent Corp. His responsibilities will include operations in all company offices in North America and will extend to analyzing and developing Electro Rent’s benefits program. Prior to joining the company in 1992, Shapiro was first vice president of human resources and administration for Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards.

Joe Shea has joined the Woodland Hills office of Mainsaver as vice president of sales. His responsibilities will include augmenting and motivating the company’s sales force. Prior to joining, he was president of Shea & Associates Consulting.

Marc Terry has been named business development manager in the Los Angeles office of Career Central Corp. He will maximize exposure and sales in major markets across the United States. Most recently he was recruiting manager for Robert Half International.

Hospitality

Deborah Badger has been appointed to the sales team at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel & Center. She will manage sales for the Omni’s Southwest market. Most recently, Badger served as sales manager of the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

Insurance

Chuck Caldwell has been appointed senior vice president of the employee benefits division of Lockton Insurance Brokers Inc., the Los Angeles subsidiary of Lockton Co. Caldwell formerly managed the employee benefits unit at the L.A. office of Johnson & Higgins. In addition, Tim Burnett has been appointed a producer in charge of new business development. He will be focusing on growth-oriented national and larger middle market companies. He previously was a senior account representative for Liberty Mutual.

Barbara S. Roll has been named Southern California/Rocky Mountain regional manager of Los Angeles-based Kemper Environmental. She will be involved in marketing, producer relations, client relations and will act as liaison pertaining to all of the insurance company’s environmental services. Prior to joining, Roll was a vice president with Sedgwick of California.

Law

Angelo Falcone has joined the Los Angeles office of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips as a partner. He will help the firm develop new relationships with U.S. and foreign-based companies by offering cross-border tax strategies. Previously, Falcone was with Riordan & McKinzie as a tax principal.

Sheldon Warren has been named managing partner of Carroll, Burdick & McDonough LLP’s Los Angeles office. In addition to his litigation practice and managerial duties, Warren will be charged with overseeing the growth of the office. He previously was a partner with Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon LLP.

New Media

Mindy Oliver has been named art director for Los Angeles-based Urban Insight. She will be responsible for applying design concepts used by the Internet and entertainment industries to urban planning, real estate and economic development. Most recently, Oliver was multimedia designer for North Communications.

Personnel

Tracy Dockery has joined the Woodland Hills office of Accountemps as a staffing manager. Her responsibilities include client consultation, job-fair recruitment and candidate placement. Most recently, Dockery was account supervisor at a Los Angles-based digital effects company.

Perrin Peacock has been promoted to Los Angeles-area division director for RHI Management Resources. He will be responsible for overseeing the management resources division. Prior to joining RHI, Peacock was a partner at a San Francisco-based import/export company.

Real Estate

Wolfgang Kupka has joined Los Angeles-based Vista Realty Advisors as president. He will focus on acquiring added-value real estate on behalf of individual and institutional clients. Kupka comes to Vista from the financial services group at Cushman & Wakefield.

Don Michel has been promoted to director of commercial services for Coldwell Banker Southern California. He will supervise the company’s new commercial division. Michel has been the branch manager of the Coldwell Banker Brentwood North office since 1986.

Recreation

Kathy Wadham has been named exhibits manager at Fairplex in Pomona. She will be responsible for all of the Los Angeles County Fair’s competitive and non-commercial exhibits departments. Previously, Wadham was special events coordinator of Mrs. Nelson’s Toy and Bookshop.
