Scott C. Gerard has joined Good Swartz Brown & Berns LLP, an accounting firm in Southern California, as partner. Gerard was previously executive director of business risk services at Ernst & Young LLP.



Architecture & Design

Palladeo, a Glendale-based construction designer and builder, has hired Claudene Anderson as director of results team leaders. Anderson was most recently a senior associate and studio director for RYA Design Consultancy in Dallas.



Banking & Finance

Lefky Mansi has been named market president for Wells Fargo’s Los Angeles bank region. Mansi was most recently community bank president for the Ventura Corridor region of Wells Fargo’s San Fernando Valley Community Bank.


Countrywide Home Loans Inc. has promoted Kevin Reskey to senior vice president and regional manager in its consumer markets division. Reskey was previously an area sales manager with the company.



Construction

Gafcon Inc., a California-based construction management firm, has promoted Robin Duveen to Los Angeles division manager. Duveen previously served as program manager for the Sweetwater Union High School District bond program.



Education

Karim Cherif has been named UCLA Extension’s associate dean for academic affairs. Cherif was most recently director of business, management and legal programs at UCLA Extension.



Entertainment

Mark Davidson has been promoted to director of acquisitions for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. Davidson was previously manager of acquisitions.


Michael H. Klein has been promoted to president of LFP Inc., a distributor of adult video, DVD, print publications, Internet and adult retail stores. Klein most recently served as head of broadcasting, Internet and video with the company.


Eden FX, a Hollywood-based creator of visual effects of feature films, television programs and commercial advertising, has hired Mark Kolpack as visual effects supervisor. Kolpack was most recently visual effects supervisor at NBC for the TV series “Heroes.”



Government

The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority has elected Bonnie Lowenthal as chairwoman of the governing board. Lowenthal is Long Beach vice mayor.

Erica Jacquez-Santos has been named field director of the First District. Jacquez-Santos was previously public affairs manager for Southern California Gas Co.



Health Care

Terry R. Peets has been named chairman of the board of City of Hope, a cancer and disease treatment center in Duarte. Peets is chairman and director of World Kitchens Inc., a kitchenware manufacturer and director for Interstate Bakeries Inc., Ruiz Foods Inc., and Winn-Dixie Stores Inc., a food retailer in southeastern United States.



Law

Theodora Oringher Miller & Richman PC, a business litigation and transaction law firm, has promoted Torrie M. Byers, Linda O. Hatcher, David J. Masutani, David E. Mead, Darryl A. Ross, Anthony F. Witteman and Stacey L. Zill to senior attorneys in the Century City office. They were associates with the firm.


Frandzel Robins Bloom & Csato LC, a Los Angeles-based law firm, has named Kenneth N. Russak as a partner. The firm also named Tamara L. Manask and Tricia L. Legittino as associates. Russak was previously a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Manask was formerly an associate at Greenberg & Bass LLP, a business law firm in Encino. Legittino previously served as an associate at SimmonsCooper LLC., a law firm based in Illinois.


Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif LLP, a Los Angeles-based law firm, has named Kevin C. Mayer as partner. Mayer was formerly a partner of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, an international law firm.


Bernard M. Resser has joined Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff Inc., a Century City-based business law firm, as an attorney. Resser was previously a principal of Berman Mausner & Resser, a Los Angeles-based law firm.



Marketing

Phoenix Marketing Services, a commercial printing, design and digital media company, has hired Dan “Potto” Duncanson and Brian O’Neill as account executives. Duncanson was formerly a special education teacher at Anaheim Union High School District. O’Neill was previously an account executive at A & M; Services of Upland.


Deana Linderholm has been hired by CreativDesign Group, a Torrance-based marketing company, as lead development account manager. Linderholm most recently served as marketing manager for Broughton Hospitality, a boutique hotel management company in Huntington Beach.



Non-Profit

Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services, a non-profit organization providing education centers for at-risk children and delinquent adolescents, has named Patricia Aleman Barulich, George Murphy, Cindy Osbrink, Larry K. Smith and Sonya Sonju to its advisory board. Barulich is a financial services professional who operates a State Farm Insurance agency in Atwater Village. Murphy is a Certified Public Accountant in West Hollywood. Osbrink is chief executive of the Osbrink Agency, a talent agency in Universal City. Smith is senior vice president of business development for Efficient Technology Inc., a software company specializing in corporate forms automation solutions. Sonju is chief executive of Afcom, an organization for data center professionals.


Children’s Bureau, a non-profit organization for prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect, has appointed Pete Kelly and Hasham Mukadam to its board, and Jeff Goodman, Shelli Herman, Katie Holthouse, Martin Jacobs and Paul Santello to the trustees. Kelly is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles, an executive search firm. Mukadam is corporate director of Occidental Petroleum Corp. Goodman is president of Sterling Strategies Inc. Herman serves as vice president of Gary Kaplan & Associates. Holthouse is a community leader. Martin Jacobs is vice president of Capital Research Co. Santello serves as executive vice president and regional managing director for Carat Fusion, a digital marketing agency.


Chang Y. Lee has been named president of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce. Lee is president of Cytydel Plastics, a plastics manufacturer.



Public Relations

Chris Kuechenmeister has been promoted to group director for the Los Angeles office of PainePR, a public relations firm. Kuechenmeister was most recently a director with the company.


StevensGouldPincus, a merger and management consulting firm, has named Mike Muraszko as partner for its Los Angeles branch. Muraszko was previously a senior associate with the firm.



Real Estate

Bret Quinlan has joined CB Richard Ellis Group Inc., a commercial real estates services firm headquartered in Los Angeles, as senior vice president of the firm’s South Bay office. Quinlan previously served as a senior director at Cushman & Wakefield, an international commercial real estate services firm.


Vaughan Smith has joined Move Inc., a real-estate content provider, as executive vice president of corporate development and strategic partnerships. Smith was most recently vice president of corporate development at eBay.


Jones Lang LaSalle Inc., a real estate money management and services firm, has promoted John Vinnicombe to the position of international director. Vinnicombe was most recently managing director with the firm.
