Carol Harris has been appointed head of production at Fresh Produce Entertainment. Most recently, Harris was executive producer and general manager for a Santa Monica-based advertising agency.
Architecture
Bruce Colbert[pic nm12-14] has joined EIP Associates as project manager. He specializes in large, multi-disciplinary planning projects ranging from base reuse master plans and general plans to planned communities and specific plans. Previously, Colbert was a planner with Cotton/Beland Associates. Also, Cynthia D’Agosta[picnm12-14]has joined the firm as senior planner. She will be managing open-space park planning projects in Southern California. Prior to joining, D’Agosta was a landscape architect at Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
Jay Tittle has been appointed principal at NTD Architects. He joined NTD in 1991, and will be working out of the Glendora office. Tittle’s recent projects include growth and modernization designs in the Beverly Hills, South Pasadena and Westminster school districts.
Associations
Pegi Matsuda has been named vice president of member services and communications for the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. She will oversee the Chamber’s membership sales and services, business information and publications, media relations and special events. Prior to joining, Matsuda was general manager and worked as the director of sales and marketing at Sempra Energy Solutions.
Banking & Finance
Howard Gordon has been promoted to senior vice president at Renaissance Capital. He has assumed management responsibility for the company’s mortgage origination department as well as becoming director of the Renaissance institutional loan program. Prior to joining, Gordon was a principal in a New York real estate investment company. Also, Paul Howard has joined the company as chief credit officer. Previously, Howard was vice president and regional manager for a large regional bank.
James Heczko has been promoted to managing director at the Los Angeles office of Duff & Phelps LLC. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions and his responsibilities include representing business owners who are merging or selling their companies, and advising corporations on business valuation issues. Also, Casey Sakamoto has been promoted to vice president. He specializes in advising on corporate valuation matters and representing business owners in the sale of their companies.
Sandra Wong has been named executive vice president and chief credit officer at East West Bank. She will oversee the asset quality of the bank’s loan portfolio and will be responsible for credit administration, credit policy and credit compliance with bank and regulatory guidelines. Prior to joining, Wong served as senior vice president and senior credit officer for Bank of America’s business banking division. Also, Bryan Hori has joined as vice president of real estate lending. He will be responsible for new business development and management of a commercial real estate loan portfolio. Hori previously served as vice president and manager of the commercial real estate department for Sumitomo Bank of California.
Consulting
Howard Cooper has joined the Sherman Oaks office of Management Action Programs as an executive consultant. He will be responsible for providing consulting services, specializing in marketing, finance and operations. Prior to joining, Cooper served as president/CEO, chairman and founder of Trimedyne Inc.
Rick Stone has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of the Los Angeles office of Jeff McClusky & Associates. He will oversee all West Coast operations with emphasis on new business development. In addition, Greg Maffei has been appointed national promotion manager/West Coast. He will work side by side with Stone in developing new and existing business. Previously, Maffei served a two-year stint with music-industry trade publication Hits.
Entertainment
Scott Brown has been promoted to general manager for Club Disney Thousand Oaks. He will manage the day-to-day operations of the site. Brown has been with Disney for over 12 years, most recently as assistant general manager for Club Disney West Covina.
Lisa DiMarzio has been promoted to senior vice president of worldwide marketing partnerships for Paramount Pictures’ motion picture group. She will be responsible for developing worldwide marketing partnerships for Paramount theatrical releases. DiMarzio was promoted from vice president of promotions.
Dorothea Hackenberg has been named national retail and marketing coordinator for Higher Octave Music. She will oversee national retail distribution and act as label liaison for EMD Distribution field staff and Virgin Associated label representatives. Previously, Hackenberg was marketing coordinator for Universal Distribution.
Brian Mulligan has been promoted to executive vice president of operations and finance for Universal Studios Inc. He will assist in managing the operations of the company, and will be responsible for developing strategic business opportunities throughout the company’s global operations, as well as leading its worldwide finance organization. Mulligan has been with Universal for eight years, most recently as senior vice president of corporate development and strategic planning.
ASI Entertainment has announced four senior executive promotions. Ellen Ryan has been appointed vice president of nationwide client services. She will spearhead the day-to-day activities, including scheduling and facilities. Ryan joined ASI in 1986 as a project director. Blair Gordon has been promoted to senior vice president of NBC client services. He joined ASI in 1974 as a mailroom clerk. Donna Lawrence has been promoted to vice president of NBC client services. She joined the company in 1978 as an administrative assistant. Beverly Bolotin has been promoted to vice president of CBS client services. She joined the firm in 1977 as the preview-house theater coordinator.
Fran Shea has been named acting president of E! Entertainment Television. She has been with E! since 1990, and has been responsible for the network’s programming, format and design. Prior to joining, Shea created and headed the talent and entertainment features department at HBO and Cinemax. Also, Barry Nugent has been appointed director of talent relations. He will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team of talent booking executives, and will oversee their interaction with external industry contacts. In addition, Lisa Rowan has been promoted to director of talent and development. She will oversee the daily operations of the talent department, and will serve as liaison for projects with the marketing, ad sales and affiliate relations departments.
Health Care
Gaynor Rabin has joined Good Samaritan Hospital as administrative director of managed care and contracting. She will be responsible for the strategic planning, development and maintenance of the hospital’s managed care and contracting plans. Previously, Rabin was director of multi-facility managed care for Providence Health Systems.
High Tech
Darrin Krumweide has joined the staff of Gnomon Inc. as associate director. In addition to his duties as a member of the management team and as an instructor, Krumweide serves as partner in the institute’s private training center. As an active partner, he will help to determine the future direction for the school.
Peter Weedfald has been appointed senior vice president of global marketing at ViewSonic Corp. He will manage and oversee the marketing activities as well as the global branding efforts for the company. Prior to joining, Weedfald spent nine years in numerous executive positions throughout Ziff-Davis Inc.
Real Estate
Mark Pender has joined PacTen Partners as a partner in charge of the firm’s industrial development division. He will be responsible for the company’s plans to pursue industrial development. Pender has been a principal shareholder with a variety of successful real estate ventures.
Bob Verna has been promoted to sales manager of the Fred Sands Beverly Center area office. He will be responsible for agent recruitment and advisement, and for overseeing the sales activities of the Beverly Center area office. Most recently, Verna was the associate manager of the firm’s Encino office.
