Jennifer Howell is the founder and CEO of The Art of Elysium, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit she established in 1997 with a simple yet transformative belief: art is not a luxury; it is an essential part of healing. Nearly three decades later, that vision has grown into one of the nation’s most respected arts-based service organizations, engaging thousands of professional artists who volunteer their time to bring creative experiences to children and adults facing hospitalization, homelessness, elder isolation, disability, military service, and other life challenges.
Howell continually reimagines how creativity can serve communities in need. Under her leadership, The Art of Elysium has expanded into a multidisciplinary organization encompassing visual art, music, film, fashion, design, literary arts, education, and community engagement.
