Erik Shanks oversees all aspects of sports production at Fox Sports, including broadcasts on the Fox television network, FS1, FS2, Fox Soccer Plus, Fox Deportes, Fox College Sports and Fox Sports Digital. He became head of Fox Sports in 2010 at age 38 and is believed to be the youngest executive to lead a broadcast network’s sports division. Shanks is part of the Sports Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Hall of Fame and was named SBJ’s Sports Executive of the Year in 2023. Under Shanks, Fox Sports has maintained some of the most valuable media rights in the country, including the NFL and MLB, and is the exclusive home of the World Series. Just a year into his tenure, Fox Sports also acquired the rights to the FIFA World Cup, set to kick off in L.A. this summer.
