Banking and Finance

Pasadena Schools Federal Credit Union has hired Beatrice Walker as executive vice president. She will responsible for analyzing finances and investments as well as directing lending and new product development. Walker was branch/call center manager at Honda Federal Credit Union.

Erik Ridgley has joined Joel R. Mogy Investment Counsel Inc. as senior vice president and investment counselor. He will be a portfolio manager, equity and fixed income security analyst and investment counselor. Before joining the Beverly Hills firm, he was senior vice president of Provident Investment Counsel in Pasadena.

Education

Anthony Bailey has joined Kaplan International, an educational and career services company, as general manager of English language programs. He will be based in the company’s downtown headquarters and previously worked for Ford Motor Co. in various marketing management roles.

Entertainment

Visual effects supervisors Mark Stetson, Kevin Mack and Richard Hoover have joined Sony Pictures Imageworks. Stetson is supervising the production of visual effects for “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” Mack will supervise the production of visual effects for “Big Fish” with director Tim Burton and Hoover is in production on “Darkness Falls” with director Jonathan Liebesman.

Health Care

Martin E. Maren is the new executive vice president and chief financial officer at House Ear Institute. Maren most recently was director of finance and treasurer at the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles. In his new role he will have overall responsibility for finance and accounting, human resources, information systems, building management and the research library.

Insurance

Denise S. Lubaway has joined the Los Angeles office of Marsh Risk & Insurance Services, where she will deal with business development and client relations. Lubaway has been business development manager for Parson Consulting. Marsh, an operating unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos.

Law

Brett Marley has joined the tax and estate planning practice at Weinstock Manion Reisman Shore & Neumann in Century City. He will concentrate his practice on representing high net worth individuals and closely held businesses. He was previously with Holland & Knight.

Manufacturing

K2 Inc. has announced that Scott Hogsett has been promoted to president of its Shakespeare Fishing Tackle division, a new position. Hogsett has served as senior vice president and general manager for the last eight years and joined the company in 1989.

Real Estate

Greg Tuszynski has been named associate vice president at the downtown office of Colliers Seeley International. He joined the firm from the downtown office of Grubb & Ellis Co., and had previously worked in the mortgage banking industry.

David Pogue has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president of ownership services in the national property services group at Insignia/ESG. Pogue had been executive managing director, property services for the Western region. Also, Robert K. Shibuya, executive vice president, will assume responsibility for all Western Region service lines, including tenant representation, agency leasing, investment sales, finance, corporate services and property services. Stan Yoshihara has also been promoted to executive director of the greater Los Angeles operations.

Richard P. Hammel has been made a partner in Integra Ellis Group, a real estate consulting service in Woodland Hills. He was also promoted to associate director at the firm. He previously was a senior analyst.

Services

Steve Marton has been named to head contract furniture sales for the Los Angeles division of BKM Enterprises Inc. BKM, an office products and services business firm distributes Steelcase products. Marton most recently was a senior manager for Haworth, managing the west region including Hawaii and Alaska.

Technology

Nanostream, a Pasadena-based microfluidics company, announced that Chris Lehman has joined the firm as vice president of business development. Prior to joining Nanostream, Lehman was director of business development with Genencor International, a biotechnology company.

Capstone Turbine Corp. announced that Emily Liggett has joined the company as its interim chief operating officer. She will fill the post vacated by Ake Almgren, who had been chief executive. She joins the firm from Raychem Corp., where she held a variety of positions, including chief executive of its Elo TouchSystems subsidiary.

International Rectifier Corp. announced the appointment of Donald R. Dancer , as vice president, secretary and general counsel. Dancer was most recently general counsel for GE Industrial Systems Solutions in Duluth, Ga.
