2025 Real Estate Trends Panelist: Nedda Ismaili

Nedda Ismaili has over 25 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, 19as a Commercial Real Estate Lender. She is the Regional Manager for Los Angeles and Affordable Housing in Commercial Real Estate Banking at City National Bank, where she is responsible for managing a team of 9 originators with an existing book of $3.5BN, and new originations of approximately $1BN a year. Ms. Ismaili’s team is responsible for originating, structuring, and managing commercial real estate loans ranging from construction to bridge to permanent debt for the major asset classes.  Her team also provides the full array of deposit and treasury management services for Commercial Real Estate clients.  She also started the Bank’s Affordable Housing Lending Initiative with 443 units financed in the first year alone.  She is a member of the Bank’s CRA Investment Committee.

She joined City National in 2010 as a Special Assets Manager handling distressed commercial real estate, then spent 2 years in the Private Bank prior to transferring to Commercial Real Estate. Previously, she worked at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) where she managed the Receivership process for 4 major bank liquidations. Prior to that, she was a loan syndicator for a large regional bank.

Ms. Ismaili is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and earned her Master of Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance, from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. She has a bachelor’s degree from University of Colorado at Boulder and holds a Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University in Villanova, PA.

Ms. Ismaili was named by the Los Angeles Business Journal a 2023 Leader of Influence in Banking.  She serves as a Board Member of LA Family Housing, and LA Family Housing Builds.  She also sits on their Real Este Committee.  She is a Board Member of Holos Communities and is on the Audit Committee and Project Review Committee.  She is regularly volunteers for her children’s school and sports programs, including being and art docent, and AYSO referee. She is a former Board Member of the Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills.
