Promise
Byrne, a co-founder of the generative artificial intelligence studio Promise, made headlines in 2024 for receiving an undisclosed amount of funding from notable Silicon Valley venture firm Andreessen Horowitz. Unlike many of the generative AI platforms that have cropped up in recent years that focus on niche parts of the entire production workflow – like scripts, or shooting logistics, or visual effects – Promise is creating an entire digital studio based on AI that can do it all in-house and make its own films. Byrne joined YouTube in 2006, before the company was acquired by Alphabet Inc., and he most recently led the creative partnerships team at YouTube. He was also listed as a mentor at Mucker Capital.
