Watt is the chief executive of Watt Capital Partners, a Santa Monica-based commercial and residential real estate development and investment company that manages 3.5 million square feet. The company is a spinoff of Watt Cos., which was founded in 1947 by her grandfather, Ray Watt, as a home builder for troops. Prior to taking on her role as chief executive in January 2020, Watt served as president of Watt Cos. In 2011, she led a strategic reorganization of the company that moved the firm beyond traditional property management and leasing to focus on acquisitions and real estate development, as well as joint venture opportunities. Watt led the development of thousands of apartment units and numerous shopping centers.
