Frierson’s career spans over 20 years in the private and public sector. Since 2022, he has served as director of economic development of the Western U.S. at Amazon.com Inc. In that role, he leads a team that supports Amazon investment projects across various business lines in five states. Before joining Amazon, Frierson served as director of economic policy for former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. Frierson serves on the boards of Southern California Leadership Council, the International Economic Development Council, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. where he is the board chair. Frierson is a former professional athlete, playing basketball in Australia and France for a brief time.
