Hernandez, a civic leader and former publisher, is the chief executive and founder of the Los Angeles County Business Federation, also known as BizFed. BizFed is one of the county’s largest business organizations, representing more than 420,000 businesses and their 5 million employees. The organization works to impact public policy on behalf of those businesses, advocating for manageable regulations and positive political action. The organization also hosts the annual Bizzi Awards, honoring local business leaders. Hernandez is also the co-founder of the New California Coalition, a group which works to impact the state government on behalf of businesses. Before founding BizFed, Hernandez was the first female publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News.
