The city of Pasadena has given final approval to the developer of a $100 million complex containing 75 luxury condominiums in the South Lake neighborhood.

Providence, R.I.-based Wasserman Real Estate Capital LLC plans to break ground on the project, spanning a nearly 2-acre site one block east of Lake Avenue on Granite Drive, by summer.

The one-, two- and three-bedroom units will average 2,100 square feet and start at approximately $1 million. The complex will have 68 condos, three live/work units and four town homes.

Nearly half the development will be set aside for landscaped courtyards, according to David Wasserman, the firm’s principal.

The project, dubbed Granite Park, is a continuation of Wasserman’s plans to rehabilitate the city’s South Lake Shopping District. Already, Wasserman has renovated the Macy’s and Shops on Lake Avenue.
