HOPE PLAZA | CITY OF HOPE
City: Duarte
Developer: City of Hope
GC: DPR Construction
Architect: CO Architects / EwingCole
City of Hope is a world leader in the research and treatment of cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases. On the Duarte campus, DPR Construction built a 352,000 square foot OSHPD 3 facility that consolidates outpatient services, including cancer treatment, radiology, womenĂs care, infusion therapy, pharmacy, and lab services. The nine-story Hope Plaza outpatient center, designed by EwingCole and CO Architects, centralizes these services into a high-rise, replacing low-scale buildings on the northeast campus while maintaining City of HopeĂs peaceful and welcoming environment. City of HopeĂs Hope Plaza includes a second-level, non-public bridge to the existing Amini Building, with adjacent remodel areas, as well as a seamless connection to the existing OSHPD 1 Northwest Building. The facilityĂs layout minimizes travel distances for patients and centralizes services to ensure seamless access to multidisciplinary care and advanced technology. Designed with a compassionate, patient-centric approach, Hope Plaza integrates nature and scenic views to enhance healing while providing the highest standard of cancer care. With a warm palette of wood and stone textures, the interior is designed with a spa and wellness theme in mind, and daylighting is prioritized for infusion treatment spaces to enhance healing with spectacular views of the San Gabriel Mountains.
