Richard Galofaro serves as co-managing partner in the Musick, Peeler & Garrett Los Angeles office. He focuses his practice on estate and gift tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, the administration of trusts and estates, and probate matters. Galofaro has experience structuring and implementing sophisticated transfer tax planning techniques, including sales to defective grantor trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts.
Galofaro also advises clients with respect to business and succession planning, charitable giving, and the establishment and administration of private foundations. He recently counseled multiple sets of clients regarding the use of their remaining estate/gift tax exemption considering the 2026 tax law changes by which there will be a severe reduction of exemption amount.
