Oversee.net said Thursday that it has acquired LowFares.com, a Redondo Beach-based travel rate comparison Web site.
LowFares.com operates similarly to various travel sites such as Priceline.com, Expedia.com and Orbitz.com, allowing users to compare rates. The deal closed Jan. 5 and financial terms were not disclosed.
Oversee.net is a privately held company based in Los Angeles that also operates Low.com, a financial site that helps users compare home equity refinancing options. All of the sites generate a majority of their revenues from advertising.
Joshua Lippiner, the founder of LowFares.com, will join Oversee.net to manage LowFares.com as part of the agreement.
