LABJ Insider: Crypto Renovation Moves Forward

Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, has completed the third phase of a nine-figure renovation.

The updates included new premium spaces, enhanced technology and updated amenities such as a reimagined City View Terrace.

The center, which turned 25 last week, will host the 2025 Grammy Awards, the 2027 Division I Men’s Basketball Regional and the men’s and women’s gymnastics competitions for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The L.A. LIVE campus has also started a renovation that will connect outdoor spaces with the arena.

“As we commemorate 25 years of Crypto.com Arena, we’re filled with pride for all the unforgettable moments that have taken place here – but even more excited for what’s to come. This milestone is a celebration of not only our past but the incredible future we’re building,” Lee Zeidman, president of Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater and L.A. LIVE., said. “With innovations in technology, fan engagement and sustainability, we’re gearing up to host world-class events … We can’t wait to continue raising the bar and creating even more unforgettable experiences for fans in the years ahead.”

Tennis icon Billie Jean King has been named Grand Marshal of the 2025 Rose Parade.

“We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Billie Jean King to serve as the Grand Marshal of the 2025 Rose Parade,” Tournament of Roses President Ed Morales said. “Her trailblazing work has elevated women in sports and inspired countless best days ever for athletes and fans around the globe.”

King, who is from Long Beach, said she had “fond memories of watching the parade with my family” and added that she was “deeply honored to be named Grand Marshal of the 2025 Rose Parade.”

Last week Visit West Hollywood launched its 40th anniversary campaign, “Iconic. Forever.” The campaign will include a sweepstakes to give away hotel nights as well as ad buys.

Visit West Hollywood has also announced a partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue which will include a window display.
