SAUNDRA BRYANT
Executive Director
All Peoples Community Center
Saundra Bryant has overseen many changes and forward progression, made lifelong friends, and changed numerous lives during her storied tenure at All Peoples Community Center. She was hired by the Center in 1983 as the first African American woman to serve as executive director. She is proud of her commitment to continue to foster community leadership—62% of the staff of 40 are South LA residents, and 84% speak Spanish. She is perhaps most proud of the fact that 43% of staff are former participants.
Bryant will retire from her lifetime of service (40 years as All Peoples Community Center’s executive director), following a September 28 gala and celebration. Bryant has spent her 40-year career being intensively involved with both community and industry associations and nonprofits while concurrently serving as executive director of the Center, which is a nonprofit that supports the Vernon Central community of South Los Angeles.
