President and Chief Executive, City of Hope

Stone joined City of Hope in 1996 and assumed the chief executive role in 2014. Founded in 1913, City of Hope is one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment centers. Under Stone’s leadership, it has more than doubled its physician staff and more than tripled the number of patients it treats. The center has been ranked as one of the nation’s Best Hospitals by the U.S. News and World Report for 15 consecutive years. It received a $15 million gift in September from a former cancer patient that will allow the center to open a hotel for patients and their families. He also was named the Helen and Morgan Chu Chief Executive Officer Distinguished Chair in 2021.
