Commissioner, Los Angeles Police Commission

The 74-year-old real estate developer in August will term out of his
role after serving 10 years as a Los Angeles Police Commissioner. His
resume includes having been an L.A. mayoral candidate, a parks commissioner,
a vice chair of the Los Angeles Dodgers, chair and chief executive
of Playa Vista, champion for the building of Staples Center and
chair of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount
University. Soboroff last year came up with the innovative plan to ask
local apartment owners to subsidize police recruits’ units to help them
afford to live in Los Angeles.
