Responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of
the nation’s largest local government, including oversight of a $44 billion-
plus budget, Davenport carries out program efforts related to preventing
homelessness, reforming probation and, as a licensed attorney,
helping legal defense services for undocumented residents at risk of
removal. She has been the county’s CEO since January 2021 and was
part of the launch of new organizational units in the county, including
the Office of Child Protection and the Office of Immigrant Affairs.
