LA500 2023: Martin L. Adams

General Manager, Chief Engineer, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power

Adams, who has been with LADWP for 38 years, was approved for his
current role in 2019. In the position, he oversees the nation’s largest
publicly owned utility and is responsible for an organization of more
than 11,000 employees. He previously served three years as the
LADWP chief operating officer and the Water System senor assistant
general manager. A civil engineer with a science degree from
Loyola Marymount, he has focused on home do-it-yourself projects
concerning stormwater collection. The Burbank resident is also chair
of the San Fernando Community Health Center and part of the Green
Hydrogen Coalition.
