LOS ANGELES – HKS Architects, Inc., ranked third in the nation by Building Design + Construction’s 2022 Top 160 Architecture Firms list, recently promoted two individuals in the Los Angeles office to Partner and Shareholder, one individual to Principal, one individual to Vice President, and two individuals to Associate positions.
Cory Brugger, LEED AP BD+C, Chief Technology Officer and Michael Strohmer, AIA – Regional Hospitality Practice Leader, were both promoted to Partner and Shareholder.
Cory joined the HKS team in 2018 and is an industry recognized leader in the integration of advanced technology for architecture and the built environment. His focus is primarily on innovation for projects ranging from residential design-build to high-rise office towers. Specializing in the implementation of building information modeling (BIM) and virtual design and construction (VDC), Cory has successfully overseen integrated project delivery on award-winning buildings globally.
Michael has been working with HKS for over 20 years and has worked closely on the design of hospitality and mixed-use projects. He has designed for some of the most prominent luxury hotel brands in the world including Le Meridien & Autograph Collection, Gaylord, JW Marriott and Omni. Michael’s designs are timeless and contextual, applied with an abstraction of historical reference reinterpreted from a modern perspective.
Glenn Barton, Sr. Technical Professional, was promoted to Principal. Glenn has over 16 years of experience in quality management and has worked on a broad range of projects. His experience encompasses healthcare, commercial, retail, entertainment, educational and residential project types. Glenn is responsible for creative, innovative solutions that are responsive to the client’s needs and functional requirements.
Nancy Martinez, Business Development Director, was promoted to Vice President. Nancy joined HKS in 2022 bringing over 23 years of experience in business development in the AEC industry. Her focus is on growing presence and market share within Higher Education that aligns with HKS’ strategic growth.
Cali Carter and David Rodriguez, AIA were both promoted to Associates. Cali is a design professional in the Interiors studio. Her work spans across a variety of market sectors including healthcare, higher education, and workplace. David is a Job Captain and works primarily in the commercial/mixed-use sector. He develops design and technical solutions and assists in document production coordination.
