After clerking for renowned District Court Judge Milton Shadur, Melanie Walker spent over 19 years at an AmLaw 10 firm in Chicago, where she served as deputy head of the 100+ lawyer litigation group. In 2021, Walker made the move to DLA Piper, and to Los Angeles, where she has made a substantial impact in a short time.
Walker serves as co-chair of DLA Piper’s Corporate & Securities Litigation practice and head of the Los Angeles litigation group. She has been instrumental in growing DLA Piper’s Los Angeles litigation group, attracting and retaining high level talent. She is also strategically focused on growing DLA Piper’s securities litigation practice, particularly on the West Coast, and continuing to ensure it is best in class. Throughout her career, Walker has tackled novel issues in the securities litigation space and beyond. She was on the team that won Tellabs, Inc. v. Makor Issues & Rights, Ltd.
