Gurney is the chief of Mission Valley Bank and its holding company, which she founded. She has been active in the community, having served on the boards of the Valley Economic Alliance, the Los Angeles County Business Federation and the San Fernando Valley Community Foundation, among others. Gurney also has been involved in such industry organizations as the Federal Reserve’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council and the Pacific Coast Banker’s Bank, and she is the past president of the California Independent Bankers Association.
