President, Loyola Marymount University
Snyder joined Loyola Marymount University as its 16th president in 2015. The Jesuit university was founded as Los Angeles College in 1911; in 1973 it merged with Marymount College and took its current name. Total student enrollment for the 2021-22 academic year is roughly 10,000; the university employs 615 full-time faculty. The university placed No. 7 in the Wall Street Journal’s 2022 rankings of Catholic Colleges and Universities. Last fall, the $1.5 million Drollinger Family State outdoor performance venue opened on LMU’s Westchester campus. Previously, Snyder served as vice president for academic affairs at Loyola University Maryland.
