Casey has guided Whittier Trust’s transition from a relatively small family office to a multiclient family office and private trust company with more than $16 billion in assets under advisement. It counsels some of L.A.’s wealthiest families. Casey has a BA from St. Mary’s College, and he completed postgraduate work at the business schools of De Paul University and the University of Wisconsin. He earned a law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law. The South Pasadena company was founded in 1935 as the family office for the Whittier family, whose wealth came from real estate and petroleum. As of 2021, the company had a 20-to-1 client-to-adviser ratio.
