Larian founded MGA Entertainment in 1979. It manufactures toys and games, dolls, electronics, home decor, stationery and sporting goods. The largest privately owned toy company, MGA is known for its Bratz dolls and owns Little Tikes brand, which makes products for the very young. Larian left Iran in 1971 at 17 and moved to Los Angeles. He attended Cal State Los Angeles, where he earned a civil engineering degree. Larian’s daughter, Jasmin Larian Hekmat, in February launched a collaboration with MGA’s Bratz dolls and her apparel brand, Cult Gaia. Under Larian’s guidance, MGA grew to an estimated $2 billion in annual revenue last year.
