Overseeing the world’s largest recorded music label, Grainge engineered an initial public offering in September, showcasing value for parent-company Vivendi of France. In trading around the IPO, the music conglomerate was valued at $55 billion. In the past year, the company signed Korean-pop sensation BTS, bought the Aerosmith catalog and licensed music to onliners Amazon Music, Twitch and Snapchat. Longstanding artists include Drake, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. Grainge joined in 1986, became chief executive in 2010 and chairman in 2011. Born in London and now living in Los Angeles, Grainge was knighted in 2016.
