Joshua Briones is a son of immigrant farm workers who came to the US from Mexico to work in the fields of Northern California. His hard work ethic at an early age was the fuel that helped him succeed later in life. Today Briones is managing member of Mintz’s Los Angeles office and serves on the firm’s Policy Committee. Briones has received awards and national recognition for his innovative approach to the defense of bet-the-company litigation.
Briones has represented clients in such industries as financial services, building products, retail, pharmaceuticals, automotive, professional sports, food and beverage, petroleum, chemical manufacturing, health care, high technology, and higher education. He frequently publishes and lectures before national and local bar and industry organizations. Briones has served as lead defense counsel on over 550 alleged nationwide class actions in state and federal courts across the country, including many filed in the most plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions.
