Kayo M. Elkner was born in Yamagata, Japan and was raised in Tokyo. Elkner has a strong academic background and a no-nonsense approach which helped shape her adulthood. After high school graduation, she decided to take a leap of faith, and she traveled to the U.S and enrolled at Seattle University, where she learned English and received a B.S. in finance.
She later obtained her CPA certification in Illinois and launched her career.
Elkner currently guides the Nagano Morita Division of Prager Metis to help bridge two cultures. She provides accounting and tax services to individuals, small-and-medium-sized privately held businesses, and small-and-medium-sized closely held and public corporations. She has prepared individual, corporate, S corporations, and partnership income tax returns for clients in the U.S. and internationally, including Japanese clients headquartered in Hawaii and California.
