Gary H. Arakawa, CFA, CFP, co-founded Covington Capital Management, a Los Angeles based registered investment advisory firm, in 2004 and serves as the chief investment officer. Under his leadership, Covington has grown to managing over $4 billion in assets. Arakawa is a member of the Management Committee where his responsibilities include developing long-term strategy, executing operating plans and cultivating client relationships. He is also a portfolio manager, principal and serves on the company’s Board of Directors. Arakawa has over 40 years of experience in the financial services. He is a member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles and the CFA Institute. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Vietnam War in Adak, Alaska, and Guam, in the specialty field of satellite communications. Arakawa has applied the discipline and leadership skills he developed in the military to manage and grow the firm.
