Architecture

Steven Thomas Powell has been hired as senior medical planner and senior associate in the Century City office of HGA Architects and Engineers, a Minneapolis architecture, engineering and planning firm. Previously, Powell was senior medical planner and equipment partner in the downtown L.A. office of Perkins+Will, a Chicago commercial architect design firm.

The Santa Monica office of Callison, a Seattle retail design firm, has promoted Marc Fidler and Tracy Woods to associate principals. Fidler and Woods were previously associates with the firm.


Banking & Finance

Karineh Naaman has been named district manager for Wells Fargo Community Bank’s Glendale-Burbank market. Naaman was previously store manager for the bank’s main banking branch in Glendale.

Tonya Perez-Wright has been promoted to assistant vice president and banking center manager of Comerica Bank’s new Marketplace Long Beach branch. Perez-Wright previously served as assistant banking center manager for the bank’s Torrance-Towne Center location.

Adam Keefe has been promoted to executive vice president in the Westwood office of CSI Capital Management, a San Francisco wealth management firm. Keefe was previously vice president of wealth management with the firm.

City National Bank has promoted Jodi Huston to senior vice president and manager of the core banking division’s Westside region in its West L.A. office. Huston was previously executive vice president and regional manager with the bank’s Southern California region.


Engineering

Miyamoto International, a Sacramento structural and earthquake engineering firm, has hired Rhonda Bly as senior associate of business development and marketing in its downtown L.A. office. Bly was previously director of business development and marketing with BSW International Inc., an architectural firm in Tulsa, Okla.


Entertainment

Knitting Factory Entertainment, a national music club and concert house headquartered in Boise, Idaho, has promoted Morgan Margolis to president in its Hollywood office. Margolis was previously vice president of national operations with the company.


Government

Jonathan Parfrey has been appointed to the board of Department of Water and Power. Parfrey is director of Green LA Coalition, a Santa Monica nongovernmental environmental coalition, and vice president of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters.


Health Care

Warren L. Chandler has joined City of Hope in Duarte as chief information officer. Chandler was previously president of Strat-Tech Group LLC, a Jacksonville, Fla. health care information technology management company.




Insurance

The Woodland Hills office of Burns & Wilcox, an insurance company headquartered in Farmington Hills, Mich., has hired Christian T. Hamlin as professional lines broker. Hamlin was previously vice president of brokerage at Breckenridge Insurance Services, an Austin, Texas insurance company.


Law

Scott Alan Burroughs has been named partner and shareholder of Doniger Law Firm APC based in Culver City. Burroughs was previously an associate with the firm.

Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps LLP, a San Diego law firm, has named Jeryll Cohen partner in its downtown L.A. office. Cohen was previously senior counsel with the firm.

Henry W. Root has been appointed chairman for the music division of the American Bar Association Forum Committee on Sports and Entertainment Law. Root is founder of Law Offices of Henry W. Root PC., a Santa Monica entertainment law firm.

The downtown L.A. office of Nixon Peabody, a Boston-headquartered international law firm, has named David Bacon partner of labor and employment, Richard Bromley counsel of labor and employment, Michael Curtis associate of labor and employment, Alexandra Epand partner of products liability, Margarita Gevondyan associate of products liability, Ann Smith Kane partner of labor and employment, Kelly Kress associate of products liability, and Michael Lindsay partner of labor and employment. Previously, the attorneys held the same positions at Thelen Reid & Priest LLP, a San Francisco business law firm.

Justin Rawlins has been promoted to partner in the downtown L.A. office of Winston & Strawn LLP, a Chicago-headquartered international law firm. Rawlins was formerly an associate with the firm.




Marketing

Reg Delperdang has joined the Cypress office of Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, a marketing agency based in Roselle, Ill., as director of client technology services. Delperdang was previously a self-employed consultant.

Gina McDuffie has joined the Cypress office of Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, a marketing agency based in Roselle, Ill., as vice president of marketing. McDuffie was previously senior director of marketing with El Segundo-based DirecTV Group Inc.

Trailer Park, a Hollywood-based entertainment marketing agency, has named Evan Geerlings vice president of business development for the company’s newly launched digital design group. Geerlings was previously a co-founder of iCandy Interactive, a Hollywood design studio.

Hershey Cause, a Santa Monica marketing, publications and design services agency, has hired Kristen Stancik as senior communications manager and Aimee Teplinsky as chief operating officer. Previously, Stancik was program manager for Rock the Vote, a Washington, D.C.-based voter enrollment non-profit. Teplinsky was financial manager at Development Alternatives Inc., a humanitarian project consulting firm based in Bethesda, Md.


Media

944 Magazine, a West Hollywood publisher of city lifestyle publications, has named Valarie Anderson publisher for its Los Angeles edition. Anderson was previously fashion director and publisher of the Los Angeles Times magazine, a weekly section published by the Los Angeles Times.

Bhavesh Patel has been appointed vice president of interactive media in the Century City office of Fox Sports International. Patel was previously director of global digital media for the National Basketball Association in New York City.

LA, Los Angeles Times Magazine, a weekly section published by the Los Angeles Times, has named Nic Harcourt editor at large of music and culture. Harcourt was previously music director at Santa Monica radio station KCRW.




Non-Profit

The Aerospace Corp., an El Segundo non-profit that provides technical analyses and assessments for national security space programs, has named Ellen M. Beatty assistant chief officer, Patricia A. Williams principal director of business information technology and Daniel Wong principal director of the treasury directorate. Previously, Beatty served as vice president of finance for TXU Energy Corp., a Dallas company that provides electricity and related services. Williams was senior financial adviser for business information technology with Aerospace Corp. Wong was vice president and senior client manager at Bank of America.

Path Partners, a Los Angeles non-profit organization that provides housing development and social services, has appointed Richard Bloom executive director of community initiatives. Bloom operates Law Offices of Richard Bloom, his own practice in Santa Monica.

Los Angeles Sports Council, a non-profit organization that encourages economic and community development through the promotion of sports programs, has elected Gary Cypres to its board. Cypres is president and founder of the Sports Museum of Los Angeles in downtown Los Angeles.




Real Estate

Re/Max Commercial & Investment Realty in Torrance has named Jennifer Song vice president. Song was previously senior associate specializing in multifamily housing at Colliers International, a Boston-headquartered commercial real estate firm.

The West L.A. office of CresaPartners, a Boston-headquartered corporate real estate firm, has hired Joseph Faulkner as executive vice president. Faulkner was previously executive managing director at Charles Dunn Co., a downtown Los Angeles real estate company.

D. Michael Mason has joined the Pasadena office of Integra Realty Resources Inc., a New York City property valuation and counseling firm, as director of litigation support. Mason was previously manager in the downtown L.A. office of First American Commercial Real Estate Services Inc., a real estate firm based in Dallas.

John W. Ghiselli has joined Barker Pacific Group Inc., a downtown L.A.-based commercial real estate services firm, as principal. Ghiselli was previously president of Wilshire Property Co., a Santa Monica commercial real estate investment company.

The downtown L.A. office of Jones Lang LaSalle, a Chicago-headquartered commercial real estate company, has promoted Darren Eades to senior vice president. Eades was previously vice president with the company.




Retail

Dreanna Bane has joined Gramicci, an Agoura Hills apparel company, as design director. Bane was previously a freelance designer.

Roochi Traders Inc., a City of Commerce sportswear company, has hired Bruce Berton as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Berton was previously principal and director of international business consulting with Stonefield Josephson Inc., a Santa Monica certified public accounting firm.

Stila Corp., a Glendale-based color cosmetics brand, has promoted Deanna Kangas to president. Kangas was previously chief marketing officer with the company.

Michele Pascoe has joined Taryn Rose International, a Culver City footwear company, as chief financial officer. Pascoe was previously chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Rachel Ashwell Designs Inc., a West Los Angeles company that manufactures furniture and bedding.


Transportation

Giancarlo Mulinelli has joined the Los Angeles office at Los Angeles International Airport of AeroMexico as Western regional director for the U.S. division. Mulinelli was previously general manager in Guatemala for Continental Airlines.


DONATION

Pasadena-headquartered Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California has donated a $15,000 grant to We Can Pediatric Brain Tumor Network, a Granada Hills-based support group for parents of children with brain tumors. The grant will be used for the organization’s teen-young adult community program, which trains young adults who have survived brain tumors to serve as mentors to children undergoing brain tumor treatment.


KUDOS

The California Society of CPAs has honored Kristine Stromeyer with a Women to Watch experienced leader award. Stromeyer is a principal in the Beverly Hills office of Rothstein Kass & Co., an Roseland, N.J. accounting firm.
