DreamWorks Animation, Molina Healthcare Among Week’s Biggest Movers

The Los Angeles Business Journal’s index of the largest local public companies fell for the week. The weighted LABJ index fell more than 1 percent to close at 230, with losers outpacing gainers 88 to 53. Ten companies closed the week unchanged.

DreamWorks Animation was the leading gainer for the week after news broke that the Glendale studio would be acquired by Comcast’s NBCUniversal for $3.8 billion. Shares rose 41 percent for the week, closing at $40.

El Segundo technology company PCM Inc. was also one of the week’s biggest gainers. Shares rose 15 percent to close at $10 on Friday.

Molina Healthcare Inc. of Long Beach was one of the week’s biggest losers, falling 20 percent to close at $52.
