Both firms are in Pasadena and practice estate planning, corporate and tax law, public agency, family law, elder law, litigation, private fiduciary, insolvency, intellectual property, employment, real estate, and banking and financial services.
Lagerlof was the largest law firm in Pasadena even prior to the merger and will now employ 47 attorneys. Following the Jan. 1 merger announcement, the firms plan to integrate operations during the next year.
“We believe that as two experienced firms, coming together with shared values and attitudes of excellence, we can serve our clients with even better resources and capabilities than ever before,” Joshua Driskell, managing partner at Lagerlof, said in a statement.
Lagerlof was founded in 2020 with a strategic partnership between three legal offices — Primuth Driskell and Terzian; Lagerlof Senecal Gosney and Kruse; and Phelps Group. The firms consolidated operations at 155 N. Lake Ave. in downtown Pasadena and accommodate both virtual and in-person consultations in accordance with current safety protocols.
In August, the company was listed by Inc. magazine as No. 617 on the list of 5,000 fastest growing private companies. Per the list, the company saw 780% growth during the past three years.
In addition to expanding its legal team, Lagerlof also developed a charitable arm. Last year, the firm launched its nonprofit to support youth development and family well-
being programs in the Pasadena area. Dubbed Lagerlof Cares, the nonprofit invests in local programs that help children and teens, including the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena.
The Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena “serves over 2,000 kids annually,” said Driskell in a statement. “We are excited and proud to partner with an organization with such a remarkable impact.”
