Passenger traffic at Los Angeles International Airport over the July 4 holiday period is forecast to hit a record 2.86 million passengers, airport officials said on June 28.
The core holiday period, which runs from Fri., June 29 through Thurs., July 5, is expected to draw 1.81 million passengers, up 2.4 percent from last year’s seven-day total, Trevor Daley, deputy executive director for external affairs at Los Angeles World Airports, said in the forecast announcement.
The busiest day of the 11-day holiday period between June 29 and July 9 is projected to be Fri., June 29, with 275,000 passengers and more than 120,000 vehicles on airport grounds, followed by Mon., July 9 with 272,000 passengers and nearly 114,000 vehicles.
