Sinemia releases unlimited plan with limits; Fandango wins patent dispute over streaming services; Chatsworth Products receives awards
Sinemia Announces Unlimited Plan
In a move to rival its chief competitor MoviePass Inc., West Hollywood-based ticketing app Sinemia Inc. said Sept. 17 it will release an unlimited plan with, well — some limits. The plan, which costs $30 per month, restricts users to six films per day, Techcrunch reports. In late August, Sinemia released a $10 monthly plan allowing users to see three films per month.
Fandango Wins Patent Case Against Maxwell
In other movie news, Socaltech reports Sawtelle-based ticketing app Fandango Inc. announced today it won a patent invalidation case against Maxwell Ltd., a Japanese company which filed for a patent to allow rental access to movies and television shows for a set period. Fandango acquired Culver City video rental and streaming outfit M-Go in 2016, turning it into the patented FandangoNow streaming service which was defended in California Central Court.
Chatsworth Products Receives Innovation Awards
The Business Journal reports Chatsworth Products Inc. received two gold honoree and one silver honoree awards at the Cabling Installation and Maintenance Innovators Awards in Austin, Texas. Products awarded included CPI’s electronic access control system and the company’s work to remodel a 1,000-cabinet data center in Richmond, Va.
