SpaceX Dragon Capsule Returns Home

After embarking on a test journey to the International Space Station, the SpaceX Dragon crew capsule splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean near Florida. ArsTechnica reports the mission’s success was due to the more than 1,000 computer simulation tests of the re-entry run by SpaceX and NASA.

Rogue Co. Raises $1.25 Million Seed

West Hills-based Rogue Co. recently finalized a $1.25 million seed round for its mobile games publishing business, VentureBeat reports. The firm launched in September, and this raise was led by Menlo Park-based Grishin Robotics. Following the raise, Girshin Robotics Co-Founder Dmitry Grishin will join Rogue’s board of directors.

Bird Launches Platform for Fleet Managers

Santa Monica-headquartered Bird Rides Inc. is rolling out Bird Platform, a new program for people who want manage their own scooter fleets. Debuting in New Zealand, Canada, and parts of Latin America this week, the system was originally announced in November but hit snags with roll-out. Bird sells the vehicles and branding tools to would-be fleet managers, then takes a 20 percent cut of the operations revenue, according to TechCrunch.
