Square Enix Shows off New Titles at E3
El Segundo-based Square Enix Inc. announced several new games at this year’s E3 conference, including a title based on Marvel’s “The Avengers” with assistance from frequent collaborator and game developer Crystal Dynamics. The company is also remaking two of its star “Final Fantasy” games, TechCrunch reports.
“To Catch a Predator,” on Snapchat
The Verge reports Santa Monica-based Snap Inc.’s “gender-swap” filter led to the arrest of a sexual predator. A teenager used the social imaging company’s camera lens to make himself look like a 16-year-old girl, and then reported a man who propositioned him to local law enforcement. To date, this is the first time this has happened on the social app.
GameMine Expands Mobile Games Library
Venice-based online game publisher and streaming platform GameMine Inc. acquired 1,200 games from a Czech competitor, Socaltech reports. Details on the acquisition are thin, and GameMine said the games were acquired as a result of re-worked licensing deals.
