HyreCar to Sell New Shares

Downtown-based digital car-sharing marketplace HyreCar Inc. announced July 19 it will sell an additional 3.5 million shares to raise capital to expand its staff and technology offerings. The common stock will be priced at $3 per share, and HyreCar expects to net between $10 million and $12 million from the proceeds, the Business Journal reports.

ZEFR Sells Rights Management Assets to Vobile

Venice-based Zefr Inc. announced June 19 it sold its content-flagging and rights management software to Santa Clara-based video production conglomerate Vobile Group Ltd. The deal was worth $90 million, Socaltech reports. Vobile will open an office in Los Angeles as part of the arrangement.

Virgin Orbit to Launch Satellites for Royal Air Force

Long Beach-headquartered Virgin Orbit has signed a preliminary agreement to launch small satellites into space for the British Royal Air Force. TechCrunch reports Virgin Orbit has said it hopes to bring spacecraft launch capabilities to the United Kingdom, which has not launched a rocket in its home country. The deal includes building a spaceport in Cornwall where Virgin’s trademark modified carrier plane can launch a rocket from sometime “early next decade.”
