Nifter, a Beverly Hills-based NFT music marketplace, is close to launching an advisory board that will advocate for compensation and fair treatment for artists.
Nifter is a subsidiary of the publicly traded technology company ClickStream Corp., which is led by Chief Executive Frank Magliochetti.
The advisory board of Nifter will be made up of members from the art, music and entertainment industries. Nifter added that the global expansion includes assigning dedicated talent agents in Asia and Africa.
This month, the company signed its first two executives to what it called the NFT industry’s first talent agent program.
Jason C.A. Johnson is one of those executives. He is known for turning music streaming and audio-discovery platform Audiomack into a top music streaming platform in Africa. He was recently named Audiomack’s senior vice president of marketing and brand strategy and has 12 years of experience in the entertainment marketing and partnership space.
The other executive, Charles Bascom, is the chief executive of Wealth Garden Entertainment and ERF Media. Wealth Garden offers services including brand consulting, business management and endorsements for professional athletes and artists, among other clients. Bascom is a strong advocate for the Korean entertainment industry in the United States and has marketed South Korean music talent and negotiated rights for films from the country.
Nifter first arrived on the NFT scene as an art, sports and entertainment marketplace. The platform has been used to purchase and trade collectible NFTs. It also rolls out NFT collections that are bundled with live event experiences.
The company conducted an NFT sale and event named Ethos this March that featured music artists including R&B singer and songwriter Lyrica Anderson, rapper Dice Soho and others.
The company is focusing on the full spectrum of art, sports and entertainment through its MP3-oriented NFT format.
