Mangomint Personalizes Its Services

Mangomint Inc. is expanding its product offerings for spas and salon owners. The Palms-based software developer provides these businesses with a platform to manage appointment booking, payments, and now, personalization of services.

Part of the funding for the new tool, which is aptly called Service Customization, came from a $13 million series A funding round in December. Abby Schmautz, product growth manager at Mangomint, said that the new feature can help business owners upsell their clients on optional services, increase pricing transparency and ensure that service providers accurately budget the time and resources needed for the treatment the client is looking for.

“We’re always trying to be super innovative and intentional with the features that we’re developing for the market,” Schmautz said. “This new dedicated solution for service customizations … is a win for the business because it’s a really strategic way for them to drive more revenue and upsell clients on these optional add-ons. We’re also letting them give clients the choice to get what really want in the online booking and let clients really personalize the experience.”

The company said that it’s currently seeing about 350,000 appointments booked through its platform each month, which translates to $40 million of sales processed monthly. Mangomint has about 1,000 businesses using its services, including local establishments like Brambila Salon, My Little Beautique and Venice Soleil Nails & Spa.

Optional service customization could include requesting a silent haircut appointment, adding stones to a massage, specifying what type of manicure a client wants or adding nail art to a manicure. Schmautz said that Service Customization is a free solution added onto its existing platform, which starts at $165 per month and goes up to $375 per month, depending on the size of the business and the number of service providers it has. She said that Service Customization will aid businesses looking to survive in the current market and increase the likelihood of a customer adding more services to their appointment.

“It’s just so great for the business as well because they’re going to benefit from that increased revenue, which is going to help with their longevity as they’re building their salon and spa business,” Schmautz said.
