Beverly Hills-based livestreaming platform LiveXLive Media Inc. will acquire New York-based artist development company Gramophone Media Inc. by the end of June.
The purchase, announced by LiveXLive on May 28, will give the company ownership of Gramophone’s boutique public relations and management agencies, including Right Angle PR, Chapter and Verse, and Effective Immediately Public Relations. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
LiveXLive said it acquired Gramophone to complement its online digital talent search platform, Self Made.
Gramophone will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of LiveXLive, and Gramophone’s team, including co-founders and top executives Eshy Gazit and Patrick Ermlich, will remain with the company.
The deal for Gramophone marks LiveXLive’s sixth acquisition. In early May, the company announced a deal for Modern Drummer Publications Inc., a Hanover, N.J.-based publishing company. The purchase is expected to close by the end of June.
In December, LiveXLive acquired Addison, Ill.-based personalized products retailer Custom Personalization Solutions. Financial terms of these acquisitions were not released.
“Gramophone Media is another outstanding addition to LiveXLive’s complementary businesses,” LiveXLive Chairman and Chief Executive Robert Ellin said in a statement.
Founded in 2014, Gramophone Media focuses on music publicity. The company’s agencies have managed artists including Steve Aoki, Jesse McCartney, Ani DiFranco and Randy Jackson.
“The foundation of Gramophone media is supporting musicians of all levels to achieve notoriety and credibility,” Gazit, Gramophone Media’s founder and president, said in the announcement.
Gazit, who is also Gramophone’s president and sole shareholder, has personally managed major international musicians, such as K-Pop sensations BTS and Monsta X.
LiveXLive was founded in 2015 and went public in 2018. The music streaming company owns and operates PodcastOne, Slacker Radio and React Presents.
