Chatsworth-based Cal Net Technology Group was acquired by ABRY Partners subsidiary Nexus Technologies Inc. (which does business as NexusTek) Aug. 6. Cal Net provides managed IT solutions and will now operate as a NexusTek entity.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but this transaction marks the fifth merger and acquisition completed by NexusTek in 2018. In addition to the Cal Net acquisition, NexusTek also closed acquisitions of Phoenix-headquartered Decision Consultants Inc. and Syndeo Technologies, based in Massachusetts.
“Synergies in company culture and vision make joining NexusTek a strategic win for all parties, especially customers,” said James Hwang, chief executive at NexusTek. “I am excited to be part of an elite team that will forever alter how small and mid-size companies nationwide utilize cloud and managed IT services. Access to truly customizable solutions will allow companies of all sizes, and in all markets, to redeploy personnel and reinvest in growth,” Hwang said.
Denver-based NexusTek was founded in 1989 and provides IT support to businesses nationwide. The company was acquired by ABRY partners in December 2017. Cal Net was founded in 1995 and employs roughly 90 employees.
Cal Net provides IT services to the Los Angeles Business Journal.
