AECOM Awarded NASA Environmental Contract Worth Up to $300M

Century City-based engineering and infrastructure firm AECOM has been awarded a five-year contract of up to $300 million to provide environmental cleanup services for NASA, the company announced March 26.

Under the contract, which began last month and continues through February 2024, AECOM will perform contamination assessments and design cleanup plans on NASA sites nationwide, including the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada Flintridge. Among the contaminants often found at launch sites such as the Kennedy Space Center are rocket fuel and cleaning solvents.

The contract has a maximum value of $300 million.

“AECOM is proud to have supported NASA’s mission for more than 50 years, dating back to the Mercury and Gemini programs,” said Frank Sweet, executive vice president of AECOM’s environment business line.
