Every year, foundations across Los Angeles give to a variety of charities. Some focus on homelessness, while some cater to the arts or other causes. One likes to help with roofs, sewers and the like – “projects others do not find engaging,” that foundation’s chief executive explained. But all give with the goal of making life better.
