Weinstein is the founder and president of MJW Investments. It owns a roughly $1.5 billion portfolio of real estate holdings comprised primarily of student housing and multifamily properties. The company last year acquired $200 million worth of real estate, sold its holdings in Arizona and refinanced several assets into long-term fixed rate loans. MJW has more than 1,500 units of multifamily properties and 7,500 student-housing beds in its portfolio. Most recently, it embarked on a co-GP platform, which has acquired more than $150 million worth of properties. Weinstein, who began his career as an attorney, is an advisor on the regional council of Dignity Moves, a nonprofit focused on housing the homeless.
