Planting and Cliff Goldstein co-founded Brentwood-based GPI Cos. in 2008, where Planting provides strategic direction for capital allocation and acquisitions. The company recently opened 9001 Santa Monica Blvd., a high-end mixed-use project in West Hollywood. Other notable projects include The West End, a $180-million project that converted the former Westside Pavilion Macy’s department store into an office complex. Planting previously served as a senior partner at J.H. Snyder Co., and as a partner at Maguire Partners. A UC Berkeley graduate, Planting is currently on the board of Loyola High School of Los Angeles and is a member of the advocacy and economic development committee at the Hollywood Partnership.
