Hennessey Digital, a digital marketing firm in the San Fernando Valley focused on a law firm clientele, was last week acquired by a larger marketing vertical.
Seattle-based Herringbone Digital, a marketing agency backed with funding from Dallas-based Trinity Hunt Partners, announced its transaction with Hennessey Digital on June 11. It represents Herringbone’s first foray into the law marketing space.
Hennessey founded and chief executive Jason Hennessey said the new partnership would be “transformative” for his company, which he founded in 2015 and has been previously recognized by Fortune as one of the 50 Best Workplaces in Advertising and Marketing.
“In a highly fragmented industry with many strong players, we are fortunate to join forces with partners who understand our vision and will work alongside us to become the undisputed leader in legal marketing, offering the most comprehensive suite of solutions for law firms looking to grow,” Hennessey said in a statement. “With Herringbone’s support, we can preserve the local brand identity and business structure we’ve worked hard to build while gaining the resources to expand our capabilities.”
Retaining the brand
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Hennessey Digital will retain its branding, executive team and staff, which operates remotely.
Since its founding, Hennessey Digital has amassed a wealth of nationwide law firm clients, ranging from headliners like civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump to local criminal defense personalities like Burbank-based Simmrin Law Group.
To date, Herringbone Digital’s offerings have covered marketing in the dental, health care and home services industries.
