Marketing agency Hawke Media scooped up one of its peers last month.
Hawke on March 25 acquired Irvine-based marketing firm Blue Light Media. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though Hawke’s announcement noted that Blue Light’s leadership and staff would remain in place.
“At Hawke, we believe every brand today must think and operate like a media company to stay competitive,” Erik Huberman, chief executive and founder of Hawke, said in a statement. “At the center of that is consistent, quality content – CQC – driving connection, community and performance. Blue Light Media has built its reputation on delivering that level of creative excellence, and we’re thrilled to integrate their expertise as we double down on social-first marketing at scale.”
Experiencing a growth spurt
The transaction is just the latest for Santa Monica-based Hawke Media.
The firm in November acquired Seattle-based brand marketer We Are Unicorns. This capped off a 2024 that also saw Hawke acquire Super Top Secret in Utah; Mcomm Group in Illinois; Lemonade in Oakland; and Jessica Zweig Inc. in Tennessee.
In 2023, Hawke acquired Tribute Media in Idaho; Leverage Marketing in Michigan; and Lone Fir Creative in Washington.
Huberman noted that in adding Blue Light to its portfolio, Hawke was advancing its direction of deploying content-driven marketing. Blue Media founder Mikhail Alfon echoed a similar mission for his company.
“An acquisition with Hawke allows us to take that mission to new heights – offering our team greater opportunities, expanding our capabilities and giving our clients access to an incredible collective of marketing resources that will accelerate their growth,” he said in a statement.
