The consumer products division of The Walt Disney Co. will unveil new collections and experiences tied in with the company’s centennial this year.
The Burbank-based entertainment and media giant will celebrate the storytellers who have brought Disney to generations of families and fans who have taken the company and its content into their hearts throughout the past 100 years, according to a release from the company’s Consumer Products, Games and Publishing business unit.
In December, shopDisney, the company’s online store, launched the Disney100 Platinum Celebration Collection featuring pieces including the iconic Mickey Mouse Ear Hat with a platinum touch, the release said.
Other collections will be released throughout the year, including:
The Disney100 The Eras Collection, which will showcase fan-favorite periods of time in the company’s history, including the early years of The Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland Park and more; and the
Disney100 Decades Collection, which celebrates classic stories from the company’s legacy, including “Steamboat Willie”, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Pinocchio” and others.
Among the licensees releasing special Disney product this year is Lego Group. The two long-standing partners will honor fan-favorite Disney moments, capture the magic of new Disney stories and bring friends and families together to dream, build and create with new Lego Disney products and play experiences, the Disney release said.
Additionally, fans will be able to celebrate Disney 100 Years of Wonder with a slate of commemorative collaborations launching throughout the year, the release added.
Collections include fashion and accessories brands such as Coach, footwear brands such as Adidas AG, jewelers including Pandora A/S, and toy manufacturers Mattel Inc. and Hasbro Inc.
